Who Controls Your DVR?

I had saved 6 different episodes of Conspiracy Theory
hosted by Jesse Ventura on my Motorola dct6208 DVR
and now 4 of them have disappeared.

I did not delete them and they were not marked
for automatic deletion in case of storage restrictions.

Is this Big Brother in action?

Did you experience something similar to this?
Or do you have a less sinister explanation?
